We want sumware.at to work well for everyone: with a mouse, keyboard, touchscreen, screen magnifier or screen reader. This page covers what we have built for that, where gaps remain and how to report a barrier.

WCAG 2.1 AA is also the target for the SUMWARE POS software itself. We are happy to share details on the accessibility of the software on request.

What we have implemented

  • Full keyboard support. All menus, forms and the booking calendar work without a mouse. In the calendar, the arrow keys move between days and Page Up and Page Down switch the month. Escape closes open menus.
  • Skip to content. The first tab stop on every page is a "Skip to content" link that jumps past the navigation.
  • Visible focus. The active element is always clearly highlighted and stays clear of the header and the privacy notice.
  • Screen readers. Pages have a clear heading structure and landmarks. Buttons, calendar days and form fields carry meaningful labels, and menus announce whether they are open or closed.
  • Clear forms. Required fields are marked, input errors are described in text, and after sending you get a confirmation that screen readers announce too.
  • Images with alt text. Every image that carries content has a description.
  • Contrast. Text is designed for a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1, and we have strengthened gray tones that fell short.
  • Reduced motion. If you have turned on "reduce motion" in your operating system, the site shows no animations.
  • Zoom and small screens. The layout adapts to screen width and magnification.
  • No time pressure, no third-party content. There are no time limits, no autoplaying video or audio and no embedded content from third parties.

Known limitations

  • No external audit yet. The assessment is based on our own review. An independent review by accessibility experts or people with disabilities is still to come.
  • Send buttons. In the contact form and the booking form, the button becomes active once all required fields are filled in. Missing fields are recognizable by their * marker; a list of what is missing is not shown yet.
  • External platforms. Footer links lead to Instagram, LinkedIn, Discord, WhatsApp and Signal. Their accessibility is outside our control.
  • Easy-to-read and sign language. Content in easy-to-read language or Austrian Sign Language is not available at this time.

If any of these limitations affects you, we will help you directly. For example, we are just as happy to book your demo by phone or email.
